PCTC pays tribute to David Milne KC as he retires from the Bar

David Milne KC

Pump Court Tax Chambers wishes their colleague, David Milne KC, all the best for a happy retirement after 55 years at the Bar.

David became a barrister in 1970, joining PCTC where he remained throughout his career, taking silk in 1987, and acting as a recorder from 1989 to 2006. His outstanding success, particularly in the VAT field, was due not only to his deep knowledge of the technicalities of the law but also to his ability to make complex issues accessible to any audience, even to judges, coupled with his calm, charming and measured style of advocacy.

Head of chambers, Kevin Prosser KC says: “We are sorry that David has decided to retire. He enormously enhanced the reputation of Chambers, was a very kind and generous leader and pupil supervisor, and was also a good source of legal gossip. We will all miss him, but wish him well in his retirement.
